Do I have to pay?

No. Thutor is free, and you earn TC 40 as you finish sign-up. Thuto Core (R100 a month, paid by a parent) adds TC 50 every month and unlocks the coins you earn.

Why do I need to link a parent?

Linking a parent is what unlocks your coins. Until then, your revision and marks still count towards your progress and what your teacher sees.

How do I join my class?

Get the class code from your class teacher in person (for example 12A-QM1178), then open Updates and tap Join a class.

Will Thutor do my homework?

No. Thutor coaches you with questions and hints until you can explain the answer yourself — that’s what builds real understanding, and what your effort is recognised for.

Is 1 TC really worth R1?

Yes. 1 Thuto Coin is worth R1 — real value, not points. Withdraw, save towards a goal, or spend on airtime, data and vouchers, within your parent’s controls.

What is the FQ Score?

A score out of 500 for how you earn, save and spend. It places you as a Mouse (0–250), Lion (251–450) or Camel (451–500). On Thuto Core it unlocks discounts and rewards.
