You can’t support what you can’t see.
Thuto shows you the work — not just the final report — so you can coach your child’s effort and reward their progress with incentives you already give.
Free to start. Thuto Core is R100 a month per child, with TC 50 added to their wallet every month.

Termly report cards arrive too late. By then, you’re reacting to results instead of supporting growth.
The shift
From reactive spectator to proactive progress coach
Reactive spectator
- On the sidelines, blind to day-to-day effort or quiet struggles
- Hearing at the end of term, once gaps have compounded
- Stressful nagging and punishment
Proactive progress coach
- Real-time visibility of assessments, tasks and revision
- Early-warning alerts when your child is struggling
- Recognition and encouragement that keeps them going

01 · Get visibility
Know the workload — as it happens
See termly assessments, tasks and required revision in real time — and get early-warning alerts when your child is struggling, not an end-of-term surprise.
- Grade average, best subject and the subject that needs support
- Every task, request and result in one feed
- Switch between children at the top of Home

02 · Set goals
If you do this, you’ll get that.
Help your child align academic goals with reward goals, so they know exactly what they’re working towards. Thuto supports them with revision along the way.
- Approve savings goals, with optional auto-save
- Set coin controls: what they can do alone, and what needs your OK
- Increase their independence over time
03 · Reward real-time effort
See progress. Recognise it. Keep them going.
Real value, not points: 1 Thuto Coin = R1.
You’re already rewarding your child.
Pocket money, gadgets, accessories, data. Thuto doesn’t ask you to spend more — it links the incentives you already give to academic effort. When learners see the link between what they do and what they achieve, effort becomes meaningful.

KYC (FICA) is completed once, on its own page, before any coin action unlocks. Details are encrypted and used only for verification.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Still stuck? Tap Ask in the app, or contact support.
Am I paying my child to study?
No. You’re already rewarding your child — with pocket money, data or gadgets. Thuto links those incentives to effort and progress, and you set the goals and controls.
How do I link to my child?
Add or link your child when you sign up, or link during your child’s own sign-up. One parent account can follow several children — switch between them at the top of Home.
How do I fund Thuto Coins?
Top up through Paystack in the app. Every rand is credited 1:1 as Thuto Coins to your child, plus a card fee of 2.9% + R1. You can also send a reward at any time.
Can I control how coins are used?
Yes. In Manage › Control you can approve spending, set a weekly limit without approval, and switch store purchases, goal moves, withdrawals and sending to friends on or off.
Is my child’s school on Thuto?
Ask your child’s class teacher for a class code. If the school isn’t on Thuto yet, share our Book a demo page with the principal — you can still start at home in the meantime.
Why do I need to complete KYC?
South African financial rules (FICA) require identity verification before real money moves. You complete it once; details are encrypted and used only for verification.
